Plughs is owned and operated by Wendy Hammond, a horse owner and rider from New York. Her love of the horses and desire to solve equestrian problems lead her to create Plughz. She collaborates with top riders, trainers and equine specialists to come up with solutions that are tested, safe and high quality

The History

The first product to hit the market was the Plughz ear plugs as an alternative to cotton, the practice foam golf balls, neon cat toys and traditional fleece. They found cotton was no good for the show ring because it is white and easy to see. The practice golf balls and cat toys are made of a pours latex foam which traps dirt and horses can have an allergic reaction to the latex which can cause ear sores. so they came up with a non toxic foam as a solution. The fleece did not offer enough sound deadening quality and easily shaken out. Their answer is a smooth, non toxic foam ear plug in black and in three sizes to fit all size equine partners.

A natural extension from the ear plug is their popular Sound Off Ear Nets. These offer great sound deadening for those horses that don’t like ear plugs and for the dressage rider that can’t use ear plugs in the show ring.

The Healthy Hoof Glaze was produced as a alternative to all the toxic options out there. They created a all natural hoof shine with no acetones, no chemicals, no pine tar, no turpentine and no petroleum distillates. This product is safe enough for our own skin! Finally a show ring shine that is all natural, non drying and safe.

They continued to create and provide great products and solutions for the equestrian world.
